Can You Become a Reiki Master Online?

There are a lot of controversies when we look at the possibilities to become a Reiki Master online. Some people feel it is absolutely impossible to follow an online course and receive distance attunements to learn Reiki, but if you look at what Reiki really is, you will find that it is far more likely to work than most people think.

The basis of Reiki is energy. Free flowing energy. Nothing more nothing less and really, there are no mysteries. Everybody is able to learn Reiki. Everybody. You really don’t need to be a genius nor a practising healer already to introduce Reiki energy into your life.

What you need is empathy, a desire to learn Reiki, study the symbols and theory; practice doing different exercises and most importantly, you will need to receive different attunements to become a Reiki Master.  So basically, everybody can learn Reiki and if you want to learn it you will need to find a place that feels right to you. I personally have received my level I and II attunements during different Reiki courses where I learned the Reiki symbols from a practicing Reiki Master. I thought it was a wonderful experience but even then I felt Reiki should only be taught face to face.

However, over these past years, that opinion has changed and I have actually received the master attunements to become a Reiki Master through an online Reiki course. It took me quite a while to take the decision to take my master attunements online but seeing that my personal situation did not leave room for a personal face to face master level course, I felt the “next best thing” I could do was to do it online first and maybe in the future get another attunement.

All I can say is that that experience has not only opened up my Master energy channels, it has also given me a much more profound understanding and believe in Reiki energy, knowing first hand that distance healing is as powerful (if not more powerful) than an ordinary healing session and that it is very possible to become a Reiki Master online.
